Abbie Anderson Dollar, 73, of Bainbridge, GA, passed away Thursday, March 18, 2010 at Memorial Manor. The funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, March 20, 2010 at First Baptist Church with Rev. Paul Medley officiating. Interment will follow at Oak City Cemetery. Abbie was born June 6, 1936 in Scott County, TN, the daughter of Paul and Jean Ross Anderson. She moved to Bainbridge in 1958 to serve as secretary of the Administrator of Memorial Hospital during its construction. She married Hubert Dollar in 1959 and together they were very active in the civic and political life of Bainbridge. She was a member of First Baptist Church and the Hilda Byrd Sunday School Class. She was preceded in death by her husband, T. Hubert Dollar in 2001. Survivors include her son, Tommy Dollar and his wife Audrey of Bainbridge, GA; her daughter, Tamara D. Hader and her husband Sean of Bainbridge, GA; her grandchildren, Garet Franklin of Bainbridge, GA, Anna Beth Kinchen and her husband Ashley of Tallahassee, FL, and Hugh Dollar of Bainbridge, GA; and her great-granddaughter, Braylie Randall.
