Abbie Sue Harrell Green Dukes, 86, of Bainbridge, GA, passed away Sunday, April 26, 2009 at her residence. The funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 29, 2009 at Morningside Baptist Church with Rev. Leon VanLandingham and Rev. Conrad Salter officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church Cemetery with Richard Green, Harold Green, Nelson Harrell, Larry Harrell, Paul Dukes Baker and Tommy Avery serving as active pallbearers. The family will receive friends Tuesday, April 28, 2009 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Ivey Funeral Home. Online visitors may sign the guest register at www.iveyfuneral.com . Mrs. Dukes was born October 17, 1922, in Decatur County, GA, the daughter of Paul H. Harrell and Waver Mae Glover Harrell. She was a graduate of Mt. Pleasant High School, Class 1942, was a homemaker and a member of Morningside Baptist Church. Mrs. Dukes was preceded in death by her husband, Grady Green and her son, Larry Green. Survivors include her husband, Homer Dukes of Bainbridge, GA; her son, Randall Green and his wife Millie of Moultrie, GA; her daughter, Glenda Green Cross of Bainbridge, GA; her sister, May Bell Green of Bainbridge, GA; three grandchildren, Chris Green, Sherry Collier and Becky Green Wray; and five great-grandchildren.
