Allison Miller

Allison Miller, Jr., 71, of Bainbridge, GA, passed away Sunday, February 1, 2009 at Memorial Manor Nursing Home. The funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, February 3, 2009 at Salem Baptist Church with Rev. Ed Harrell officiating. Interment will follow at Salem Baptist Church Cemetery with Roger Loyless, Danny Shepard, Jimmy Shephard, Rick Kelly, Jeff Kelly, and Daniel Shepard serving as active pallbearers. The family will receive friends Monday, February 2, 2009 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Ivey Funeral Home. Online visitors may sign the guest register at www.iveyfuneral.com . Junior was born April 2, 1937 in Decatur County, GA, the son of Allison Blachshear Miller and Dahlia Whittaker Miller. He served in the Georgia National Guard, retired with over 20 years at Engelhard, and was a veterinary assistant for Dr. Charles Cooper for over 20 years. He was a very active member of Salem Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, Louise Shephard Miller of Bainbridge, GA; two sons, Benny Miller and Charlie Miller, both of Bainbridge, GA; a brother, Herman Hatton of Bainbridge, GA; a sister, Betty Decker of Albany, GA; and two grandchildren, Heavyn Miller and Miracle Miller.
