Alto H. "Toby" Prince, 89, of Faceville Community near Bainbridge, GA, passed away Wednesday, November 5, 2008 at his residence. The funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, November 8, 2008 at Ivey Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor H. Haskell White and Rev. Joe Hodges officiating. Interment will follow at Franklin Baptist Church Cemetery with Eddie Prince, Charles Prince, Terry Prince, Ronnie Tuggle, Dr. James E. Sellers and Larry Sellers serving as active pallbearers. The family will receive friends Friday, November 7, 2008 from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Ivey Funeral Home. Online visitors may sign the guest register at www.iveyfuneral.com . Mr. Prince was born January 23, 1919 in Decatur County, GA, the son of Walter Pryor Prince and Minnie Butler Prince. He was a graduate of Cairo High School and a farmer. He served in the United States Army Air Corps during World War II as a Lieutenant. Mr. Prince was a glider pilot during the Normandy Invasion, the Battle of the Rhine and also served in other parts of France and Italy. Mr. Prince was a member of Celebration Baptist Church where he was a Deacon and Sunday School Teacher for many years. He was preceded in death by his daughter H. Reneé Prince, three brothers, Walter Edward Prince, Sr., Marion Prince and Robert Prince and two sisters, Eula Irene Prince Bonner and Ethel Elizabeth Prince Bonner. Survivors include his wife of sixty-one years, Agnes Tuggle Prince of Faceville, GA; his sons, Rodney A. Prince of Faceville, GA and Ricky H. Prince and his wife Hallie of Faceville, GA; his brother, Arthur Prince of Atlanta, GA; and his grandson, Bailey Eck Prince of Faceville, GA.
