Mrs. Alverna L. Harrell Mrs. Alverna L. Harrell, age 93, passed away Tuesday, August 21, 2012, at the Presbyterian Home in Quitman, Georgia. Services for Mrs. Harrell will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, August 23, 2012, at Cairo Church of God. The Rev. DeWayne Atkinson will be officiating. Interment will be held in Cairo City Cemetery. Darrell Cliett, Ronnie Ezell, David Ezell, Larry Torres, Curtis Smith, and Allen Snowden will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends 7:00 - 9:00 p.m., Wednesday, August 22, 2012, at the Cairo Church of God. Alverna Lillian Brown was born April 23, 1919 in Grady County, Georgia. She married Roscoe Luke Harrell, who preceded her in death. She was a homemaker and member of the Cairo Church of God. Alverna Harrell is survived by her son, Lannis and wife, Brenda Harrell of Cairo, Georgia. She was preceded in death by her husband, Roscoe, and son, Buford.
