Mr. Alvin "Al" .Edmunds, 71, passed away Thursday, April 19, 2007 at Satilla Regional Medical Center in Waycross, GA. The funeral service will be at 4:00 p.m. Monday, April 23, 2007 at Southside Baptist Church in Nahunta, GA with Rev. Michael Gibbs officiating. Active pallbearers will be Frank Bullard, Michael Strickland, Tyrus Manning, David Moody, Earl Outlaw, and Milton Sapp. Honorary Pallbearers will be the Athletic Director, Assistant Athletic Director, and all coaches of High School and Middle School. Interment will follow Tuesday, April 24, 2007 at Oak City Cemetery in Bainbridge, GA with The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Sunday, April 22, 2007 at Chambless - Frye Funeral Home in Nahunta, GA. Online visitors may sign the guest register at www.iveyfuneral.com . : Mr. Edmunds was born in October 25, 1935 in Bainbridge, GA, the son of Clinton W. Edmunds and Sara Katherine Floyd Edmunds. He served in the Korean War in the U. S. Marine Corp and worked as a journeyman for Jacksonville Electric Authority. He was a member of Southside Baptist Church. He was a very active Heron fan and loved being there for the kids and driving the bus to all the sports games. He loved hunting and fishing. He was preceded in death by an infant sister, Joann. Survivors include his wife, Patricia Lindsey Edmunds of Brantley County, GA; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Roger and Frances Edmunds of Bainbridge, GA, and Shawn F. Roden of Bogata, TX; and two grandchildren, Clint E. Edmunds and Natalie Rose Edmunds.
