Amos Arnold Jones, 79, of Climax, GA, passed away Friday, February 25, 2011 at his residence. The funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 27, 2011 at Pisgah Primitive Baptist Church with Elder Thad Marshall officiating. Interment will follow at Pisgah Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery with Jerry Jones, Randall Jones, Sammy Perkins, Donald Dalton, Kyle Guderian, Anthony Jones, Chester Brewer, Bill Jones and Cathy Brewer serving as active pallbearers. The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 26, 2011 at Ivey Funeral Home. Online visitors may sign the guest register at www.iveyfuneral.com . Mr. Jones was born January 20, 1932 in Climax, GA, the son of Harvey Lewis Jones and Mamie Ulmer Jones. He served in the U. S. Army from 1954 to 1956, was a farmer, and a bus driver. He was a member of Pisgah Primitive Baptist Church. Mr. Jones was preceded in death by his brothers, Harold Jones and Lewis Jones; and his sisters, Margaret J. Smith and Christine J. Taylor. Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Esther Jones of Climax, GA; his sons, Dennis Jones of Climax, GA, Ricky Jones of Climax, GA, Leonard Jones of Athens, GA, and Derrick Jones of Climax, GA; his daughters, Dollye Brewer Stroup and her husband, Richard, of Climax, GA, Peggy Jones Guderian and her husband, Lance, of Hamilton, GA, Lisa Jones and her partner, Kristi Birschbach, of Tallahassee, FL, and Bonnie Jones of Nova Scotia, Canada; his sisters, Annie Mae Perkins of Whigham, GA, Dorothy Dalton of Calvary, GA, and Sara Mauldin of Brunswick, GA; his eight grandchildren, Adam, Bill, Chester, Brandy, Cathy, Anthony, Kyle, and Jessie; and his five great-grandchildren, Brantley, Grace Ann, Lawren, Charlie, and Emily.
