Some people leave this world quietly. Reed Rognstad was never one of those people. Reed was a wife, a mother, a grandmother, a daughter, a sister, and to so many people, a friend who could make herself impossible to forget. She was strong-willed, fiercely protective, incredibly hardworking, and loved her family with everything she had. She was the kind of woman who would give you her last two cents and then find a way to make sure you gave them back because, after all, they were her two cents.
Reed had a way of taking care of everyone around her while somehow still making it look effortless. She gave her time, her energy, and her heart to the people and causes that mattered to her. She was a leader, a volunteer, a mother who could wrangle a house full of kids, and the kind of woman who could spend an entire weekend making sure everyone else was taken care of — and still somehow look beautiful doing it.
She leaves behind a family who will carry her love, her strength, her stories, and her stubbornness with them for the rest of their lives.
Reed is survived by her husband, Steve Rognstad; her children, Aaron & Elyse Rognstad, & Lacey Madden; her parents, Joann Curtis & Brodus Rodgers; her sister, Mandi Eastman; and her grandchildren, Jeremiah, Josiah, Sylas, and Jacob Rognstad. She was preceded in death by Silas & Rodgers, Churchill Curtis, James and Luna Howard.
There will never be another Reed. Her family will miss her voice, her laughter, her bossiness, her strength, and all the little pieces of her that made her uniquely Reed. But most of all, they will miss simply having her here. She was an incredible woman, deeply loved, fiercely remembered, and impossible to replace.
We love you, Mom. Until we meet again.
A special service for Reed will be held Saturday, August 29th at 1:00 pm at Lake Seminole Baptist Church for family and friends.
