Mrs. Annette Brooks Morris, 77, of Bainbridge, GA, passed away November 3, 2007at her residence. The funeral service will be at 10:00 a.m. Monday, November 5, 2007 at the First United Methodist Church with Rev. Stephen L. Webb officiating. Interment will follow at Brinson Cemetery with Jimmy Brooks, Jonathon Morris, Rusty Davis, Chipper Smith, Harry Smith, Rick Ragan, and Chuck Rich serving as active pallbearers. Mrs. Annette Morris was born December 26, 1929 in Seminole County, Georgia to the now late James William Brooks and Emma Ruth Smith Brooks. She was a graduate of Seminole County High School and Bainbridge College. Mrs. Morris was a member of the First United Methodist Church, where she taught Sunday School, MYF, served on the Administrative Board, and was active in her circle. She was the society editor for the Post Searchlight before working as a secretary for Miller Hydro Co., International Paper Co., Lambert, Floyd, and Conger Attorneys, and First United Methodist Church. She was active in Professional Secretaries International and the Bainbridge-Decatur County Chamber of Commerce, and was the winner of the competition to give Bainbridge its current slogan: "Georgia at it's best". She was preceded in death by her stepmother, Carmelita Brooks. Survivors include her husband of 57 years, Earp Morris of Bainbridge, GA; a son, Bubbie Morris and his wife Terri of Jacksonville, FL; three daughters, Carolyn M. Burhans and husband Rick of Ormond Beach, FL, Joni Morris-Anderson and husband Donny of Tallahassee, FL, and Merreann M. McDonald and husband Greg of Bainbridge, GA; two brothers, Jimmy Brooks of Cottondale, FL and Michael Brooks of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; four sisters, Myrna Willbrant of Washington, KS, Anne Thornton of Glendale, AZ, Georgia Mayfield of Tarpon Springs, FL and Melba Goldschlager of Trenton, FL; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
