Annie Pearl Stephens Patterson, 86, of Macon, GA, formerly of Bainbridge, passed away June 8, 2008 in Macon, GA. The funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, June 10, 2008 at Ivey Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Danny Shepard and Reverend Carl Ellington officiating. Interment will follow at Oak City Cemetery with Earl Smith, Richard Smith, Josh James, Chad Holton, David Fletcher, and John Reynolds serving as active pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers include Reuben Reynolds, Jr., Wendell Nix, Robert Bridges, and Mayo Livingston. The family will receive friends Monday, June 9, 2008 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Ivey Funeral Home. Mrs. Patterson was born January 23, 1922, in Calvary, Georgia, and moved to Bainbridge as a child. She was the daughter of the late Henry E. and Ethel Mae Stephens. She graduated from Bainbridge High School in 1939 prior to attending business school. She worked as a secretary for many years, including several years at the First State National Bank of Bainbridge. For fifteen years, she owned and operated Patterson Insurance Agency with her late husband, James G. (Pat) Patterson. After selling the agency and retiring in 1985, Mrs. Patterson worked with Reuben Reynolds, Jr., until illness forced her to retire last August. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Bainbridge. She was devoted to her family and a loyal Georgia Bulldogs fan. Survivors include two daughters, Joanne James of Griffin, GA and Sue Smith (Earl) of Macon, GA; five grandchildren, Joni Fletcher (David) of Jackson, GA, Susan Holton (Chad) of Gray, GA, Jennifer James of Athens, GA, Richard Smith (Dawnn) of Franklin, TN, and Josh James (Natalie) of Dacula, GA; six great-grandchildren, Griffin, Brett, and Haley Fletcher of Jackson, GA, Madeleine and Caleb Smith of Franklin, Tennessee, and Miller Holton of Gray, GA; three sisters, Hattie Horn of Augusta, GA, Mary Ethel Johnson of Colquitt, GA and Marjorie Moughon (Jimmy) of Gray, GA.
