Anthony Glisson

I, Andy Glisson, am writing my own obituary. I was born April 27, 1955 to Ceaphus and Hazel Glisson in Bainbridge, Georgia. I went to Bainbridge High School. I met the love of my life, my best friend, and my wife of over 40 years, Dianne Glisson. I love her and thank her for everything she has done for me since 2019, along with what my son, Logan has done. I am going to miss our fish sandwiches, Bube, but I have been missing it, you make your moma take you by.

I leave behind my wife, Dianne Glisson, my son, Logan Glisson of Bainbridge, my daughter, Danelle Glisson (Tony Morris) of Whigham, Georgia, my son, Anthony Glisson (Renee) of Bainbridge, my grandchildren, Layton Whittaker of Preston, Georgia, Ceslie of Whigham, Georgia, Lee Glisson of Bainbridge, Georgia, and Cody Godwin of Donalsonville, Georgia. I have 2 great-granddaughters, Emalee and Ella Kaye Glisson of Bainbridge and a great-grandson, Kreed Godwin of Donalsonville, Georgia. I have one brother, Allen Glisson (Carolyn) of Bainbridge, and special friend, Chris Whittaker of Preston, Georgia. I am preceded in death by my parents, Ceaphus and Hazel Glisson.

Mr. Glisson’s family added that he was a truck driver and loved that type of work. He attended the Christian Faith Church before he became ill. Andy loved fishing and netting. He was much loved by his family.

Services for Anthony Ceaphus Glisson will be held Tuesday, October 1, 2024, 11:00 a.m, at the Cadwell Chapel of Cox-Ivey Funeral Home. Pastor Ron Kirkland and Rev. Larry Harrell will officiate. The interment will follow in West Bainbridge Cemetery. Terry Lambert, Chris Whittaker, Randy Yawn, Bobby Thursby, Michael Brown, Sammy Watson, Brandon Roberts, and Shawn Love will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends Monday, September 30, 5:00-7:00 p.m. at Cox-Ivey Funeral Home.

The family sends heartfelt thank yous to Centerwell Home Heath, Grady Ambulance Service, Flint River Dialysis, Gold Star Ambulance Service, and Dr. Darrell Surratt for the care and concern shown to their Andy.
