Mrs. Argatha Kelly, age 101, passed away Thursday, April 18, 2013, at Memorial Manor in Bainbridge, Georgia. Services for Mrs. Kelly will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, April 21, 2013, at Bethel Baptist Church, Brinson, Georgia. Rev. Newton Cranford will be officiating. Interment will follow in Cedar Grove Cemetery in Climax, Georgia. Ricky Worthington, Gary Phillips, John Strickland, Ed Poitivint, Ronald Worthington, and Spencer Duncan. The family will receive friends 6:00-8:00 p.m., Saturday, April 20, 2013, at Cox Funeral Home Chapel. Argatha Griffin was born May 10, 1911 in Whigham, Georgia to Walter S. Griffin and Clementine Logue Griffin. She married Charlie Jr Kelly, who preceded her in death in 1974. Argatha worked in tomatoes and okra for Campbell Soup Company. She was a housewife and mother. Mrs. Kelly attended Bethel Baptist Church. She loved to fish and work in the yard. Argatha Kelly is survived by her children, Juanita Phillips and husband, David of Climax, Charles Larry Kelly and wife, Sue of Albany, John Bruce (J.B.) Kelly and wife, Peggy of Bainbridge, and Marlene Coleman and husband, Ronnie of Middleburg, Florida; 16 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; and many great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, sons, Amos Kelly, Jr. and Bill Kelly and daughters, Janie May and Alma Kelly.
