Funeral services for Mr. Aubrey Clinton Haywood, 84, of Ft. Lauderdale, formerly of Miller County, GA will be held Tuesday, May, 13, 2008 at 2:00 PM at the Boykin Church of God. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church. Mr. Haywood was born March 20, 1924 to the now late Charles Spurgeon and Annie Lou Glass Haywood, in Miller County, GA. He was a U.S. Army veteran of WWII, serving in the Normandy Beach Invasion, and the Battle of the Bulge for which he recieved four Bronze Stars. He was retired from more than 50 years of service to his family's plastering business. He will be remembered most for his unique sense of humor. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Nellie Haywood of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; three sons, Curt (wife Elizabeth), Gary (wife Cyndi, and Wayne (wife Tonya) Haywood; two daughters, Carol Jo Haywood Larson and Roxanne (husband Butch) Carter; one brother, Lindbergh Haywood; ten grandchildren, and five great grandchildren.
