The funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 26, 2010 at Immanuel Baptist Church with Rev. Stanley Phillips and Rev. Jimmy Dean officiating. Interment will follow at West Bainbridge Cemetery with Robbie Strickland, Curtis Davis, Daniel West, Kenny Roberts, Jason Martin, Brandon Sinney, Robert Strickland and Gary Meredith serving as active pallbearers. Austin was born March 13, 1985 in Albany, GA. He was a graduate of Pelham High School, Class of 2004 where he played on the golf team and was a member of ROTC. He attended Bainbridge College in the nursing program. He was preceded in death by his sister, April Dawn Nix and his paternal grandparents, Virgil K. and Duann Gardner Strickland. Survivors include his father, Marshall Strickland and his wife Diane of Camilla, GA; his mother, Debra Floyd Strickland and her husband, George "Ringo" of Bainbridge, GA; his maternal grandparents, J. W. "Shorty" and Betty Floyd of Bainbridge, GA; his step brother, Daniel West of Camilla, GA; his step sisters, Kim Meredith of Whigham, GA, and Katie Strickland of Bainbridge, GA; and his cousins, Robbie A., Duane, Ashby, Robby, Sarah, Amy, Olivia, Emily, Bonnie, Brandy, Hali, Kattie, Jan, Christie, Misty, Kenny, and Beth.
