Mr. Benjamin Talton (B. T.) Cumbie, age 80, passed away Monday, June 10, 2013, at his home in Tallahassee, Florida. ** Please note time change!** Services for Mr. Cumbie will be held at 3:00 p.m., Wednesday, June 12, 2013 at Cox Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends one hour before the service, beginning at 2:00. Mr. Benjamin Talton (B.T.) Cumbie passed away Monday, June 10, 2013, at his home in Tallahassee, Florida. Services for Mr. Cumbie will be held at 3:00 p.m., Wednesday, June 12, 2013, at Cox Funeral Home Chapel in Bainbridge, Georgia. Employees of Cumbie Concrete Company will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends one hour before the service, beginning at 2:00 p.m. The interment will follow in Oak City Cemetery. Benjamin Talton Cumbie was born March 24, 1933, in Wassau, South Carolina, to Arthur Cumbie and Ruby Poston Cumbie. B. T. proudly served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. Mr. Cumbie married the love of his life, Doris Allen. They were married 56 years, until her death in 2010. A hard worker and sharp businessman, he owned Cumbie Concrete Company in Tallahassee. B. T. Cumbie is survived by his brothers and sisters, Elva Jean Floyd, Roscoe Cumbie, Laurie Cumbie, Barbara Ann Coker, and Ruby Smith, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, son, Bennie Cumbie, sister, Dorothy Creamer, and brothers, Talmadge, Ted, and Charles Cumbie.
