Barbara Lewis

Barbara Shouppe Lewis, 80, of Bainbridge, GA, passed away Tuesday, February 26, 2008 at her residence. The funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m. Friday, February 29, 2008 at First Baptist Church with Rev. Paul Medley officiating. Interment will follow at Woodland Cemetery in Havana, FL. The family will receive friends Friday, February 29, 2008 from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon at Ivey Funeral Home. Online visitors may sign the guest register at www.iveyfuneral.com . Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church, P.O. Box 155, Bainbridge, GA 39818. Mrs. Lewis was born July 4, 1927 in Cottondale, FL, the daughter of Joseph David Shouppe and Alice Dykes Shouppe. She was a longtime secretary for Calvary Baptist Church and Bainbridge Christian School, a member of First Baptist Church, and taught the Winsome Sunday School Class. Mrs. Lewis taught Christian classes at local nursing homes and personal care homes. She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Lemont Lewis. Survivors include her son, Kevin Lewis and wife Wanda of Bainbridge, GA; two brothers, Joe Shouppe of Clearwater, FL and Bobby Shouppe of Milton, FL; three sisters, Lucy Harvell of Cottondale, FL, Patricia Prininger of Destin, FL, and Mary Jones of Graceville, FL; and four grandchildren, Janet Lewis and Elizabeth Lewis, both of Bainbridge, GA, Mark Dunlap of Athens, GA, and Nikki Dunlap of Savannah, GA.
