Barbara Mobley

Barbara (Bobbie) A. Mobley, age 83 of Whigham, Georgia, passed away Tuesday, May 10, 2022, at Grady General Hospital in Cairo, Georgia. Services for Ms. Mobley will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, May 14, at the Cadwell Chapel of Cox Funeral Home. The Rev. Steve Brooks will officiate. The service will conclude at the chapel. Bobbie will be interred in Woodland Cemetery in Whigham. The family will receive friends one hour before the service, beginning at 1:00 p.m. Barbara A Mobley was born June 21, 1938, in Colquitt, Georgia. Her parents, Tom Wright Blanchard and Edna Smith Blanchard, have preceded her in death. Known to her friends as Bobbie, she was a hard-working, kind lady. It was said she had a sweet soul and spirit. For many years Bobbie worked as the Lunchroom Manager for Whigham School. She loved Whigham and her home there. Bobbie enjoyed working in her yard. She enjoyed her beautiful flowers. Bobbie’s heart was her family. She was a dearly beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She deeply loved each precious member of her family. Also, she loved her cat, Blackie. Bobbie Mobley will be missed by her family and many friends. Barbara A Mobley is survived by her daughters, Glynda M. Burgess, Barbara Ruth Baron, Deborah A. Griffin (Ricky), and Donna Childress; her brother, Winston Richard Blanchard (Judy); 6 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, 2 brothers and 2 sisters, and son, Tommy (Terry) Reade Mobley, Jr.
