Mr. Benjamin Franklin Pennington died Tuesday, May 31, 2011, at Seven Hills Health and Rehab Center in Tallahassee, Florida. Services will be held Thursday, June 2, 2011, 4:00 p.m., graveside, at Attapulgus Baptist Church Cemetery in Attapulgus, Georgia. Rev. Jerry Bishop is officiating. The family will receive friends 6:00-8:00 p.m., Wednesday, June 1, 2011, at Cox-Ware Funeral Home Chapel. Mr. Pennington was born April 6, 1927 in Hamilton, New Jersey, to Frank and Isabelle Pennington. He was talented in many areas. He served in the Merchant Marines. Mr. Pennington was an executive and artisan for a company that specialized in blown glass for many years. He loved to fish, commercially or for pleasure. For the last 9 years, in Tallahassee, he was known as the "Peanut Man" . Benjamin Pennington was survived by his wife: Bonnie Pennington of Tallahassee, Florida; children: Julie Barron and Kevin Smith of Tallahassee, Florida; grandchildren: Miranda Barron of Tallahassee, Britney Smith of Bainbridge, Georgia, Justin Nix of Marianna, Florida and Jessica Nix of Crawfordville, Florida; 7 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his son, Clayton Nix.
