Berry Smith

Berry C. Smith, 89, of the Sylvania community in Bainbridge, GA, passed away Saturday, September 4, 2010 at his residence. The funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 7, 2010 at Sylvania United Methodist Church with Rev. Donna Sue Roberts and Rev. Shane Lovvorn officiating. Interment will follow at Sylvania Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 6:00 p.m. on Monday, September 6, 2010 at Ivey Funeral Home. Mr. Smith was born November 2, 1920 in Bainbridge, GA, the son of Jesse Gordon Smith and Belva E. Smith. He was a carpenter, farmer and a member of Sylvania United Methodist Church. Mr. Smith was preceded in death by his wife, Jimmie Myrl Smith and two sons, Jesse Woodrow Smith and Kenneth Cloud. Survivors include his daughter, Emma Jean Johnson and her husband Philip of Bainbridge, GA; two grandchildren, Vance Smith and his wife Melissa of Leesburg, GA and Whitney Johnson of Bainbridge, GA; his great-grandchildren, Maddi and Carson; his son, Dale Mitchell and his wife Sharon of Bainbridge, GA and their children, Hali and Thomas.
