Mrs. Bessie Dollar Phillips, 104, of Climax, GA, passed away Sunday, March 2, 2008 at Bainbridge Health Care. The funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, March 5, 2008 at Pine Forest Baptist Church with Rev. Conrad Salter officiating. Interment will follow at Pine Forest Baptist Church Cemetery with Wayne Thomas, Robert McNair, Larry Gay, Carol McLendon, Carlton Eakin, and Larry Jones serving as active pallbearers. "Miss Bessie" was born September 11, 1903 in Grady County, GA, the daughter of George Wesley Dollar and Zelma Bishop Dollar. She was a homemaker a member of Pine Forest Baptist Church, and served as Grand Marshall of the Swine Time Parade in Climax when she was 100. She was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Dennis E. Phillips. Survivors include her brother, Calvin Dollar of Vancleave, MS; her sister, Nadie Fitzgerald of Montgomery, AL; and several nieces and nephews.
