Bettie Powell

Bettie Powell, 84, of Bainbridge, GA, passed away, Tuesday, December 21st, at Memorial Hospital. Services will be held 3:00 p.m., Thursday, December 23, 2010, graveside at Oak City Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the cemetery beginning at 2:00 p.m. before the service. Bettie was born in Bainbridge, Georgia on September 22, 1926, a daughter of the late Charlotte (Hawkins) and William Spraggins. She was married to James Wilson Powell, who preceded her in death. She was a homemaker who loved gardening. Bettie loved all flowers. Bettie is survived by a daughter, Karen, wife of Owen Brooks, of Nashville, Georgia; son, James Scott Powell, of Bainbridge, Georgia; grandchildren, Kimberly James of Norman Park, Georgia, Barbara Brooks of Nashville, Georgia and Jacob Brooks of Nashville, Georgia; and great grandchild, Meghan Blanchard of Nashville, Georgia.
