Betty Blount

Betty Jean Blount, 82, passed away Monday, July 12, 2021. The graveside funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 17, 2021 at Cool Springs Cemetery with Dr. Ken Cloud officiating. Betty Jean was born March 22, 1939 in Bainbridge, GA, the daughter of Albert and  Catherine Thorpe Blount.  She suffered from encephalitis and was disabled as an infant.  Her family expresses great appreciation to the doctors and staff of Gracewood State School and Hospital, Augusta, GA and also the wonderful staff of Georgia Pines Community Service Board, Thomasville, GA, for the past 74 years of their excellent care of Betty. Survivors include her siblings, Bill Blount (Vicki) of Chattahoochee Hills, GA, Edward Blount (Sue) of Faceville, GA, Wynnette B. Cheek (Bill) of Decatur, GA, and Martha B. Whitaker of Columbus, GA.  She was preceded in death by her siblings, Mary B. Edwards, Bob Blount, Elsie B. Bullock, and Winnona B. Rosser.
