Betty Bailey Floyd, 73, of Bainbridge, GA, passed away Friday, July 30, 2010 in Archbold Memorial Hospital. The funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, August 2, 2010 at Immanuel Baptist Church with Rev. Jimmy Dean officiating. Interment will follow at West Bainbridge Cemetery with Duane Floyd, Ashby Floyd, Kenny Roberts, Alex McMillan, Dalton McMillan, Mike Dicks, and Robbie Strickland serving as active pallbearers. Mrs. Floyd was born March 24, 1937 in Rome, GA, the daughter of Herman T. Bailey and Essie Partain Bailey. She was a homemaker and a member of Immanuel Baptist Church. Mrs. Floyd was preceded in death by her son, Ronnie Floyd; her brothers, Clifford Bailey and Sammy Bailey; and two grandchildren, Elizabeth Roberts and Austin Strickland. Survivors include her husband of 57 years, J. W. "Shorty" Floyd of Bainbridge, GA; her sons, Gary Floyd and his wife Diane of Bainbridge, GA, Tim Floyd and his wife Cathy of Climax, GA, and Mike Floyd and his fiancé Shirley Hand of Bainbridge, GA; her daughters Debra F. Strickland and her husband Ringo of Bainbridge, GA, Ivey F. Stott and her husband Bob of Bainbridge, GA, Lisa Moore Musgrove of Bainbridge, GA and Cheryl F. Roberts and her fiancé Mike Dicks of Bainbridge, GA; her brothers Herschel Bailey of Bainbridge, GA and Edward Bailey of Atlanta, GA; fifteen grandchildren; and twenty-two great-grandchildren.
