Mrs. Betty J. Ingram died Wednesday, May 4, 2011, at Bainbridge Healthcare in Bainbridge, Georgia. Services will be 11:00 a.m., Friday, May 6, 2011, graveside at Greenwood Cemetery in Cairo, Georgia. Dr. Gwynn Hayes will be officiating. The family is gathering at 3110 Fred Collins Road in Whigham. Friends are welcome to come by and pay their respects. Betty J. Matthews was born March 4, 1937 to David King and Bessie Joiner Matthews. She was raised in Thomas County, Georgia. She married Willie Bob Ingram; who precedes her in death. Early in their marriage, she and her husband moved to Grady County. Mrs. Ingram worked in the laboratory of Roddenberry Foods for 32 years. She loved flowers and her lawn. Betty was a wonderful homemaker. It was a pleasure for her to put up fresh vegetables and cook for her family. One of her most beloved past times was fishing. Local creeks or St. Georgia Island, just let her fish. Betty will be dearly missed by her dog, Missy. Betty Ingram is survived by her children: Audie Keith Ingram of Whigham, Georgia, and Vangie Sue Drew and husband, Marty, of Cairo, Georgia; sisters: Barbara Miller and husband, Bob, of Albany, Georgia, Marjorie Matthews of Cairo, and Marilyn Long of Boston, Georgia; grandson: William Ray Pearce and wife, Lindsay and great grandchild: Jolee Rae Pearce, all of Cairo, Georgia.
