Betty Darley McRae, 81, of Bainbridge, GA, passed away Thursday, May 22, 2014 at John D. Archbold Memorial Hospital. The funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 25, 2014 at Morningside Baptist Church with Rev. Warren Fox officiating. Interment will follow at Delwood Baptist Church Cemetery with the Deacons of Morningside Baptist Church serving as active pallbearers. Mrs. McRae was born February 9, 1933 in Mitchell County, GA, the daughter of James Louie Darley and Emma Poitevint Darley. She worked as a nurse for many years and was a member of Morningside Baptist Church where she was active in the Dorcus Sunday School Class. Survivors include her daughters, Debra Jackson Quillen and her husband, Curtis, of Pine Mountain, GA and Trina McRae Meredith and her husband, Roger, of Bainbridge, GA; her four grandchildren, Stacey Heard, Ashley Quillen, Jake Meredith, and Emily Meredith; her great-grandchildren, Ethan Heard, Cody Heard, Hailey Sears, Hannah Sears and Angel Godwin; her sister, Martha Hayes Williams and her husband, Bill, of Bainbridge, GA; all of Granny B's Angels and Shauanna Jenkins; as well as her faithful companion JJ. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Jack McRae; her son, Mark Eugene McRae; and her siblings, Jimmy Darley, Phillis Brooks, Nina Davis and Alice Maryes.
