Billie Zorn

Billie C. Zorn, 94, of Bainbridge, GA, passed away Thursday, October 24, 2013 at Memorial Hospital. The graveside funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 26, 2013 at Oak City Cemetery with Rev. Paul Medley officiating. Mrs. Zorn was born June 22, 1919 in Lumpkin, GA, the daughter of Larkin Leonza Canington and Catherine Pearl Goree Cannington. She worked as an admitting clerk with Memorial Hospital and as a clerk with Bainbridge Housing Authority for several years. Mrs. Zorn was a member of First Baptist Church. Billie played basketball in high school, loved watching the Atlanta Braves; however, time with her family was the most gratifying. Survivors include her children, Mary Grace Hayes and her husband, Benny, of Bainbridge, GA, Willie O'Neal Zorn and his wife, Alice, of Bainbridge, GA, and Catherine Johnson and her husband, David, of Faceville, GA; her siblings, Grace Schiffgens of Atlanta, GA and Heyward Cannington and his wife, Laverne, of Waycross, GA; her sister-in-law, Clifford Cannington of Iron City, GA; her six grandchildren; and her eight great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, W.O. Zorn; and her brothers, Weyman Cannington, and Marlin Cannington.
