Bobby H. Hatcher, 78, of Bainbridge, GA, passed away Saturday, May 28, 2011 at Archbold Medical Center. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, May 31, 2011 at Morningside Baptist Church with Rev. Carl Harrell, Rev. Warren Fox, and Rev. Jimmy Hatcher officiating. Interment will follow at West Bainbridge Cemetery with Lee Thomas, Charles Rathel, Ashley Gardner, Michael Betts, Jamie Ard, and Jay Wells serving as active pallbearers and the Men's Sunday School Class serving as honorary pallbearers. Bobby was born March 31, 1933 in Bainbridge, GA, the son of Fred B. Hatcher and Simmie Lee Harrell Hatcher. He was a graduate of West Bainbridge High School, Class of 1949, Georgia Military College, and attended the University of Georgia. Bobby was a member of Morningside Baptist Church and Men's Sunday School Class. He was a veteran of the United States Army, serving during the Korean Conflict. Bobby owned and operated Hatcher's Foodland in West Bainbridge. Survivors include his wife of fifty-seven years, Jolene J. Hatcher of Bainbridge, GA; his son, Hal Hatcher and his wife, Johana, of Bainbridge, GA; his daughters, Lee Hatcher of Tallahassee, FL and Jill Heard and her husband, Dale, of Bainbridge, GA; his sister, Ann Ray and her husband, Larry, of Montgomery, TX; his brother, Don Hatcher; his grandchildren, Dena Hooks, Wesley Hooks, John Hatcher and his wife, Kirsten, Philip Hatcher and his wife, April, Reid Heard, Tucker Heard, Grayson Heard, and Natalie Melvin; and his four great-grandchildren.
