Brenda Henry Donalson, 56, of Bainbridge, GA, passed away Sunday, January 11, 2015 with her family at her side. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, January 14, 2015 at Mt. Zion Baptist Church with Rev. Tim Dean officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Zion Baptist Church Cemetery with Rusty Davis, Glenn Heard, Newton Cloud, Phil Long, Roger Grubbs, and Randy Holton serving as active pallbearers. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 13, 2015 at Ivey Funeral Home. Online visitors may sign the guest register at www.iveyfuneral.com . Memorial donations may be made to Gentiva Hospice, 432 East Shotwell Street Bainbridge, GA 39819. Mrs. Donalson was born June 17, 1958 in Colquitt, GA, the daughter of Ralph Henry and Peggy Peterson Henry. She was a graduate of Miller County High School and retired as a secretary from the Decatur County Board of Education after many years of service. Brenda was a member of Eldorendo Baptist Church and enjoyed spending time at the beach, camping, trips to the mountains, her dogs, and beauty pageants. Survivors include her husband of 33 years, David D. Donalson of Bainbridge, GA; her children, Jay Donalson and his wife, Michelle, of Bainbridge, GA, Jason Heard and his wife, Amanda, of Camilla, GA, and Jana D. Donalson and Marxus, of Bainbridge, GA; her brothers, Bruce Henry and his wife, Debbie, of Colquitt, GA and Jim Henry and his wife, Jolie, of Abbeville, AL; her grandchildren, Katlyn, Kara, Jayce, Emma, Ava, Dylan, Mason, and Grayson; her special friend and caretaker, Vanessa Safer. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Wanda Jones.
