Funeral Services for Mrs. Brenda Sue Sykes Phillips, 59, of Bainbridge, GA will be held Friday, March 20, 2009 at 2:00 PM at Morningside Baptist Church with Rev. Joe Hart officiating. Interment will follow in West Bainbridge Cemetery with William Meredith, Jackie Moat, Wayne Sykes, Trey Sykes, Dennis Deal, and Homer Meredith serving as casket bearers. Visitation will be Thursday, March 19, 2009 from 6:00 - 8:00 PM at Cox-Ware Funeral Home. Mrs. Phillips was born July 29, 1949 in Decatur County, GA to the now late William Elliott Bill and Lorene Bennett Sykes. She lived most all of her life in Decatur County and married Joseph David Phillips September 4, 1970. She was a homemaker, attended Morningside Baptist Church and loved her grandchildren and family. Mrs. Phillips passed away Monday, March 16, 2009 at Archbold Medical Center in Thomasville, GA. Mrs. Phillips is survived by her husband, David Phillips of Bainbridge,GA; one daughter; Patricia Gina King and boyfriend Boy Kennedy of Bainbridge, GA; two brothers; Davis Sykes and Eddie (Wife Marie) Sykes both of Bainbridge, GA; and two grandchildren; Vanessa and Will King both of Bainbridge,GA. She was preceded in death by her parents, sister, Mary Frances Meredith, and brother Steven Doyle Sykes.
