Brian C. Hughes, 71, of Adams, MA, passed away Tuesday, April 8, 2014 at Berkshire Medical Center in Pittsfield, MA. A private interment will be held at Oak City Cemetery in Bainbridge, GA. Mr. Hughes was born September 27, 1942 in Acushnet, MA, the son of Charles Hughes and Joan Ethel Howarth Hughes. He served in the United States Army and was a master plumber in Waltham, MA. He later moved to Savoy, MA where he was a volunteer fire fighter. He lived in Lakemont, GA for several years before moving to Adams, MA. Survivors include his wife of 31 years, Sandra H. Hughes of Adams, MA; his children, Joan Bates and her husband, Robert, of Adams, MA, Tina Torres and her husband, Jose, of Waltham, MA, Gail Hoben and her husband, Mark, of Bedford, MA, Sean Hughes of Groton, MA, Lisa Hughes of Groton, MA and Greg Hughes and his wife, Amy, of Adams, MA; his brothers, Greg Panjian of Suffield, CT and David Panjian of Attleboro, MA; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his sister, Charlene H. Plummer.
