Calvin Kelly

Mr. Calvin Eugene Kelly, age 80, passed away Tuesday, December 14, 2021, at his home in Bainbridge, Georgia. A graveside service, with military honors, will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, December 16, in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Climax, Georgia. Rev. Ryan Zearing will officiate. The family will receive friends 6:00 – 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, December 15, in the Cadwell Chapel of Cox Funeral Home. Calvin Eugene Kelly was born October 12, 1941, in Climax, Georgia. His parents, Emmitt F. Kelly, Sr. and Odessa Clinton Kelly, have preceded him in death. Calvin proudly served 22 years in the United States Army. He served in Viet Nam and many other places around the world. After his retirement, he worked in construction. Calvin loved to ride his motorcycles and enjoyed working in his garden. An award-winning chef, he enjoyed cooking the meats for all the family gatherings. Calvin was very family oriented and loved his family dearly. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends. Calvin Eugene Kelly is survived by his soulmate of 20 years, Penny Barnes of Bainbridge; children, Candace Hutchinson of Tallahassee, Florida and Dana Sadler of Kentucky; siblings, Emmitt Kelly, Jr., Jimmie Lou Anderson, Judy Vaughn, Lucia Walls, Gary Kelly, Catherine Kelly, Tammie Brock, Ronnie Kelly, and Donnie Kelly; and numerous grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
