Carl Jackson "Bubba" Jones, Jr., 86, of Climax, GA, passed away Monday, July 14, 2014 at Bainbridge Healthcare. The funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 16, 2014 at Ivey Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Steve Poppell officiating and will conclude in the chapel. Interment will be at Cedar Grove Cemetery with the members of Orion Lodge #8 F.&A.M. serving as active pallbearers. Mr. Jones was born May 4, 1928 in Newton, GA, the son of Carl Jackson Jones and Lalia Adams Jones. He was a graduate of Bainbridge High School and was a veteran of the United States Army, serving during the Korean War. He retired as a tool and die machinist from the United States Department of Energy. Mr. Jones was a member of Climax Baptist Church, Orion Lodge #8 F.&A.M., the Bahia Shrine Club, Scottish Rite, and the York Rite. Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Laquita Joy Jones of Climax, GA; his children, Sandy Jones Josey and her husband Eddie of Climax, GA, Joy Anne Jones Wood of Climax, GA, and Carl J. "Rusty" Jones, III of Climax, GA; his sister, Katy Coleman of Bainbridge, GA; his 2 grandchildren, Christopher Josey, Joel Josey; and his 2 great-grandchildren, Aubri Josey and Emma Josey.
