Mrs. Carolyn Searcy Heaton, age 70, passed away Friday, April 27, 2007 at Memorial Hospital. The funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. Monday, April 30, 2007 at First United Methodist Church in Bainbridge, GA with Rev. Stephen L. Webb add Rev. Tommy Fussell officiating. Interment will follow at Oak City Cemetery in Bainbridge, GA with Raymond Miles, Gene Miller, Richard Smith, Layne Smith, Robert Bridges, and David Greene serving as active pallbearers. Mrs. Heaton was born on April 12, 1937 in Bainbridge, GA to the late Gordon Bowen Searcy and Sara Frances Rogers Searcy. She graduated from Bainbridge High School in 1955 and married Harry Fletcher Heaton on March 10, 1956. She was a realtor with Miller-Griffin Realty. She was a member of Decatur County Historical Society and South West GA Board of Realtors. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women. She was preceded in death by her brother, Gordon Searcy. Survivors include her husband, Harry F. Heaton of Bainbridge, GA; 3 daughters and sons-in-law: Lisa H. Edgemon and husband Tom of Marietta, GA, Fran H. Brock and husband, Tracy of Bainbridge, GA and Julie H. Smith and husband, Mitch of Bainbridge, GA; 2 brothers: Bill Searcy and Roger Searcy, both of Bainbridge, GA; 1 sister, Jeanie Anderson of Chicago, IL; 8 grandchildren: Roger Brock, Eric Brock, Mary Frances Edgemon, George Edgemon, Bo Edgemon, Searcy Smith, Emma Kate Smith and Mitchell Smith.
