Ceaphus Glisson

Mr. Ceaphus Glisson, 79, passed away Friday, September 21, 2007 at his residence in Bainbridge, GA. The funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. Monday, September 24, 2007 at Ivey Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Ed Harrell, Rev. Eldon Eckard, and Rev. Hank Williams officiating. Interment will follow at West Bainbridge Cemetery with Morris Glisson, Jackie Glisson, Clay Glisson, Anthony Glisson, Fred Sims, and Randy Yawn serving as active pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Greg Hall, Mark Maxwell, J. D. Harrell, Bill Davis, Gary Frazier, Buddy Gibson, Calvin Dollar, Alfred Rogers, Lamar Barbree, Steven Johnson, Bruce Martin, Leonard Bennett, Edward Hall, William Bell, and Bob Maxwell. Mr. Glisson was born September 21, 1928 in Donalsonville to the late Norman and Jewel Robinson Glisson. He was a member of New Fountainhead Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Hazel Glisson of Bainbridge, GA; two sons, Andy Glisson and wife Dianne, Allen Glisson and wife Carolyn, all of Bainbridge, GA; a brother, Collis Glisson of Bainbridge, GA; five grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren.
