Funeral services for Charles Ronald Clay, age 67 of Bainbridge, GA will be held Saturday, October 24, 2009 at 11:00 AM at Faceville Baptist Church with Rev. Tommy McNair officiating. Interment will follow in Cool Springs Cemetery with Donald Searan, Brian Thompson, Jeff Barbree and Richard Joy serving as active pallbearers. Visitation will be held from 10:00 - 11:00 a.m. at the church. Mr. Clay was born in Pettus, WV November 26, 1941 to the now late Mayo Andrew and Lorena Mae Fitzwater Clay. He has lived in Decatur County since 1994 when he moved from Pt. St. Joe, FL. Mr. Clay was a Disabled United States Army Veteran serving in Vietnam as a Staff Sergeant. He was a member of Mirza Shrine Temple in Pittsburg, KS, Marzu Shrine Temple in Tallahassee, FL, VFW, DAV, American Legion at large, Paralyzed Veterans of America, and Faceville Lodge #487. He was a member of the Faceville Baptist Church. Mr. Clay passed away Tuesday, October 20, 2009 at Bainbridge Memorial Hospital. He is survived by two daughters; Sheryl L. Clay and Angela K. Clay; and one son; Christopher C. Clay; two brothers; Richard Lee Clay and William Robert Clay; and two sisters; Sue Sheets and Patricia Meyers and his good friends Donald and Jennifer Searan of Attapulgus, GA.
