Charlie D. Duke, 84, of Bainbridge, GA, passed away Monday, December 20, 2010 at Southeast Alabama Medical Center in Dothan. The funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 22, 2010 at Ivey Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Perry Lamey officiating. Interment will follow at Corinth Free Will Baptist Church Cemetery with his grandchildren serving as active pallbearers. Mr. Duke was born August 19, 1926 in Newton, GA, the son of Ranson Duke and Lillie Cowart Duke. He was a veteran of the U. S. Army serving during WWII, was a contractor and was of the Pentecostal Faith. Mr. Duke was preceded in death by his wife of sixty-three years, Ollie Mae Duke; his brothers, Rayford Gordon and Delmer Duke; his sisters, Ethel Beyer and Ruth Fisher; and his grandson, Dallas Anthony Duke. Survivors include his three sons, David Duke and his wife Linda of Eldorendo, GA, Randy Duke and his wife Terry of Thomasville, GA and Phillip Duke and his wife Jena of Tallahassee, FL; two daughters, Lorrie Fite and her husband David of Andalusia, AL and Vesta Bush of Orlando, FL; thirteen grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
