Charles "Elliot" Toole, Jr. passed away June 12, 2019 at Capital Regional Medical Center in Tallahassee, Florida. He was born September 23, 1946 to Charles E. Toole, Sr. and Mary Lee Wood in Andalusia, Alabama. They moved from Brewton, Alabama to Florida in 1956. After moving from Leesburg to Sanford, he graduated from Sanford High School. He attended Lake/Sumter Junior College and Florida State University where he was a member of the FSU Marching Chiefs. He was extremely proud of the Chiefs for being selected to perform at the D Day ceremony this year. He worked for WCTV television station for 47 years where he served in many capacities through the years. His commercials and Public Service Announcements won several local and state awards during his tenure. He also was the director of the Bobby Bowden football highlights show for about 25 years. In addition, he was the musical director and leader of the Tallahassee Swing Band where they play on Tuesday nights at the American Legion on Lake Ella and will be celebrating their 30th anniversary in July. One of his greatest pleasures was to lead the band for the arrival of Honor Flight each year because his father also served in World War II. He was also considered an important member of the Tallahassee Community Band which is now Capital City Band of Tallahassee Community College. He is survived by Bonnie, his wife of over 48 years; daughter, Kimberly; grandchildren, Ashley, Cristina and Katlin; sister-in-law, Ann (Charles); niece, Carole; nephew, Paul; four great-nieces; two great-great nephews; sister-in-law, Peggy; niece, Susan; nephew, David; two-great nephews; and numerous cousins. Interment will be held Monday, June 17, 2019 at 11:00 AM at the Pisgah Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery in Climax, GA, with his fellow Tallahassee Swing Band bandmates serving as pallbearers and Mr. Fred Lee officiating .
