Charles Waters

Charles L. Waters, 80, of Bainbridge, GA, passed away Thursday, July 21, 2011 at Memorial Hospital. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 23, 2011 at First Baptist Church with Rev. Paul Medley officiating and will conclude at the church. Interment will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Thomasville, GA. The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Friday, July 22, 2011 at Ivey Funeral Home. Mr. Waters was born January 3, 1931 in Spence, GA, the son of Charlie Milton Waters and Relia Maude Holly Waters. He was a graduate of Cairo High School, Class of 1950, and was a manager for Independent Life Insurance Company, retiring after many years of service. Mr. Waters was a member of First Baptist Church and also a member of the Tommy Wheeler Sunday School Class. He enjoyed golfing, fishing, and spending time with friends and family. Survivors include his sons, Steven Waters and his wife, Nancy, of Smyrna, GA and Phillip Waters of Grand Prairie, TX; his sister, Shirley Singletary and her husband, Edward, of Cairo, GA; and his brothers, Donnie Waters and his wife, Joyce, of Quinlan, TX, Dennis Waters and his wife, Vicki, of Rincon, GA, and Max Waters and his wife, Sandy, of Thomasville, GA. Mr. Waters was preceded in death by his wives, Margaret Rayburn Waters and Dorothy "Lou" Waters.
