Mr. Earl Clinton, 74, of Bainbridge, GA, passed away Friday, May 28, 2010 at his residence. The funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, May 31, 2010 at Ivey Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Malcolm Parker officiating. Interment will follow at Black Jack Baptist Church Cemetery with Brian Parker, Billy Clemons, Buddy Atkinson, Robbie Waldrop, Dave Howell and Tony Kelly serving as active pallbearers. Mr. Clinton was born July 6, 1935 in Decatur County, GA, the son of Hugh Alex Clinton and Gertrude Lela Jowers Clinton. He was a retired paint contractor and a member of Black Jack Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his brothers, G. W. Clinton and Alec Clinton, and his sisters, Ruth Lambert, Odessa Kelly, Mary Price and Mildred Thornton. Survivors include his wife of 48 years, Brenda Clinton of Bainbridge, GA; his sons, Michael Clinton and his wife Kelly of Climax, GA, Johnny Clinton, Robert Clinton and his wife Debi of Bainbridge, GA and Charlie Earl Clinton, Jr. of Bainbridge, GA; his sisters, Pat Carroll of Tallahassee, FL and Ann Clenney of Tallahassee, FL; two grandchildren, Mia Clinton Long and her husband Rob of Cochran, GA and Christopher Clinton and his wife Katie of Bainbridge, GA; and two great-grandchildren, Robert French Long, III and Lillian Savannah Long.
