Funeral services for Mr. Charlie Wilburn Mills, Jr., age 69 of Bainbridge, GA will be held Sunday, May 3, 2009 at 3:00 p.m. at Cox - Ware Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Bob Nipper officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Olive Baptist Church Cemetery with Officer Felix Trey Faircloth, Officer Kevin Todd, Lt. Bobby Ross, Sgt Steve Singleton, Deputy Humberto Dean and Deputy Spencer Mock serving as active pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be James Morris and Rev. Herman Hand. Visitation will be held Saturday, May 2, 2009 from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. at Cox - Ware Funeral Home Chapel. Mr. Mills passed away Thursday, April 30, 2009 at Bainbridge Memorial Hospital. He was born in Tallahassee, FL the son of the late Charlie Wilburn Mills and Edith Lou Keigans Mills, Sr. He was a member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church and a clothing salesman with Morris Installment for 20 years. He enjoyed fishing, gardening and farming. He is survived by six daughters Rena (husband Jerry) Cosby of Abbeville, AL, Marie Perkins of Bainbridge, Doris (husband Jesse) Carmichael of Bainbridge, Mary Sherrer of Bainbridge, Patricia (husband Lee) of Lake City, FL and Charlotte Welch of Climax, GA; three sons Jerry Randell (wife Bonnie) Mills of Columbia, AL, Daniel (wife Heather) Mills of Bainbridge and Charlie Mills III of Garden City, AL; twenty four grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; two sisters Mattie B. Wimberly of Bainbridge and Shirley A. Cofer of Cairo, GA and one brother Willis L. Mills of Cairo, GA He is preceded in death by his parents, one son Roger Mills and two brothers Roy Mills and James Mills.
