Cheryl Akridge

Funeral services for Cheryl Akridge, age 60 of Bainbridge, will be held Saturday, April 4, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. at Cox - Ware Funeral Home Chapel with Chaplain Dewitt Phillips officiating. Ms. Akridge passed away Wednesday, April 1, 2009 at Bainbridge Memorial Hospital. She was born in Mitchell County October 2, 1948 the daughter of the late George and Virginia Cooper Akridge. She moved to Decatur County in 1970 and has lived her since. She was a member of The Potter's House Church. She was employed with the City of Bainbridge until the early 90's. She enjoyed reading, gardening and working crossword puzzles. She is survived by one daughter Becky Newman of Bainbridge, GA; two sons Wayne L. Rogers of Bainbridge and Chad (wife Claire) Jones of Macon, GA; two sisters Connie McGinnis of Bainbridge, GA and Dean Cox of Cairo, GA; one brother Kent Chason Akridge of Whigham, GA; seven grandchildren Jimmy Mash, Jr., Alicia Mash, Christopher Mixon, Virginia Rogers, Ashlyn Rogers, Dustyn Jones and Peyton Jones. She is preceded in death by her parents and one brother George E. Akridge.
