Cheryl Anne Strickland, 53, of Donalsonville, GA , passed away Saturday, March 29, 2014 at her residence. The funeral service will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 3, 2014 at Ivey Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Stanley Phillips officiating, and will conclude at the chapel. Interment will be at Cedar Grove Cemetery near Climax, GA. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, April 2, 2014 at Ivey Funeral Home. Cheryl Anne was born November 20, 1960 in Bainbridge, GA, the daughter of Ben Hill Strickland, Jr. and Dola Merle Taylor Strickland. She was a 1978 graduate of Bainbridge High School and served in the U. S. Army as a medic and a member of the Army Women's Basketball Team. She was a Stores Clerk at Georgia Pacific for over 22 years, and a member of United Steel Workers Local 1703. She was of the Baptist faith. Survivors include her beloved life partner, Brenda Howell, of Donalsonville, GA; her brothers, Ben Hill Strickland, III and his wife, Debbie, of Attapulgus, GA; Stan Strickland and his wife, Jolinda, of Headland, AL and Tim Strickland and his wife, Kathy, of Colquitt, GA; and nieces and nephews, Leslie, Taylor, Katie, Tracy, Constance, Brittany, Ridge, Aden, Ben, Ashley, Hunter, Chase D., Chase R., Lauren, Allison, Dawson, Maggie, Gaius, Asher, Silas, Analei, Kaylin, Emalee, Olivia, and Noah. She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Nancy Strickland Cross.
