Christelle Proctor Olive, 90, of Bainbridge, GA, passed away Friday, December 3, 2010 at her residence. A service of thanksgiving and celebration will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 5, 2010 at First Baptist Church with Rev. Paul Medley and Rev. Harold P. Burrell officiating. Interment will follow at Oak City Cemetery with Harold P. Burrell, Harold P. Burrell, Jr., James T. Burrell, Lewis M. Carter, Jr., L. Marcus Carter, III, Joshua L. McCullough, T. Hill Olive, and Walter T. Burrell serving as active pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Tommy Wheeler Sunday School Class and the Lydia Sunday School Class. The family will receive friends from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 4, 2010 at their home, 1004 Culbreth Street, Bainbridge, GA 39819. Mrs. Olive was born October 13, 1920 in Cairo, GA, the daughter of the late Thomas Franklin Proctor and Annie Grace Meadows Proctor. She graduated from Cairo High School and attended South Georgia College. On December 24, 1938, she married Joye A. "Skeet" Olive of Bainbridge, GA. Mrs. Olive was an active member of First Baptist Church where she served as WMU Director, Sunday School teacher, and committee member. She was a member of the Lydia Sunday School Class and the Saints Alive Senior Choir. She was also an active volunteer for the American Red Cross Auxiliary at Memorial Hospital and a member of the Charlie King Garden Club. Survivors include her husband of 71 years, J. A. "Skeet" Olive of Bainbridge, GA; her daughters, Joy O. Burrell and her husband Harold of Bainbridge, GA and Betty O. Carter and her husband Lewis of Donalsonville, GA; her son, Thomas W. Olive of Bainbridge, GA; her six grandchildren; her eight great-grandchildren; and her sister, Grace P. Veal of Augusta, GA.
