Clara Scruggs

Memorial services for Clara Nell Scruggs,96 year-old, will be held on Monday, March 14, 2011, 2:00 P.M. at the First United Methodist Church of Weatherford, Oklahoma. The Rev. Lynn Brack will be officiating. Lockstone Funeral Home in charge of that service. Graveside services will be held Wednesday, March 16, 2011, at Green Shade Cemetery in Fowlstown, Georgia. The Rev. Randy Mosley officiating. Clara was born on June 12, 1914, in Faceville, Ga. to James and Julia (Duke) Anders. She passed away on Thursday, March 10, 2011, at Weatherford Regional Hospital in Weatherford, Oklahoma. Clara was raised and attended school in Faceville, Ga. She graduated from Bainbridge High School in 1930 and attended Andrew College for 2 years. On August 8,1942 in Atlanta, Georgia, Clara married James Scruggs. In 1976, they moved to Weatherford, Oklahoma, to be close to family. She enjoyed playing cards, crocheting, her flower garden, and being with family and friends. Memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Fund or to OMRF Cancer Research. Clara is survived by one son, Dr. James Scruggs and wife, Elizabeth of Weatherford, Oklahoma; and four greatchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; two sisters, Annie and one in infancy; and one brother, James Francis Anders. Cox-Ware Funeral Home is entrusted with the arrangements.
