Clara Takach

Mrs. Clara Nell Merritt Takach, age 78, passed away early Sunday, May 1, 2016, at Phoebe Putney Hospital in Albany, Georgia. Graveside services will be held for Ms. Takach at 10:00 a.m., Friday, May 6, 2016, at Greenwood Cemetery in Cairo, Georgia. Rev. Nathan Fowler will officiate. Clara Nell Merritt Takach was born March 19, 1938 in Whigham, Georgia. She was one of the eleven children of Carl Merritt and Cecilia Robinson Merritt. Clara worked many years as he receptionist at Heritage Bank in Albany. She married B.C. Takach, who preceded her in death on April 28, 2003. Mrs. Takach was a member of St. Teresa Catholic Church in Albany. Mrs. Takach is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Steve and Aletha Davis of Albany, Georgia; grandchildren, Cynthia H. Davis of Albany, Steven A. Davis, II and fiancé, Lori of Mobile, Alabama, Carl J. Davis and wife, Amber of Leesburg, Georgia, and Haley R. Davis of Albany; and great-grandchildren, Jackson M. Phillips, Savannah Davis, Debbie Davis, Amelia Davis, and Connor Davis. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, all 10 of her siblings, and children, Gary L. Davis, Debbie J. Daughtry, and Glenda K. Munoz.
