Clarence Hendrix "Sonny" Floyd, Jr. August 5, 1936 - December 11, 2023 Clarence Hendrix Floyd, Jr., age 87, of Colquitt, GA, passed away Monday, December 11, 2023. Clarence was a carpenter by trade and worked many years building schools and churches.  Commonly known to the community as "Mr. Sonny", he was born on August 5, 1936 in Thomasville, Georgia.  He was the son of Clarence Hendrix Floyd Sr. and Leila Bell Simpson. Survivors include his children, Robin Floyd (Ann) of Dillard, Ga and Tobin Floyd (Tammie) of Cumming, Ga; grandchildren include Chad Floyd (Erin), Dustin Floyd (Nicole), and Luke Floyd (Katie); great- grandchildren, Hailey Floyd, Jackson Floyd, Linley Floyd, Cooper Floyd, Griffin Floyd, Mason Collins, Micah Floyd and one on the way; and numerous nieces and nephews.  The family also wishes to recognize his caregiver for the past several years Angela Morgan. Clarence was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Carolyn Emily Floyd; his siblings, Becky Vick, Bill Floyd, and Orena Dupree. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made to Eldorendo Baptist Church, PO Box 7095, Bainbridge GA 39818 in his memory. The Floyd family has entrusted the arrangements to Ivey Funeral Home, 502 S. Scott Street, Bainbridge, GA 39819.
