Clarence G. Goad, 85, of Bainbridge, GA, passed away Thursday, February 21, 2008 at Memorial Hospital. The memorial service will be at 1:00 p.m. Monday, February 25, 2008 at Andersonville National Cemetery in Andersonville, GA with Rev. Charles Jones and Mr. Larry Price officiating. Interment will follow at Andersonville National Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday, February 24, 2008 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. at Ivey Funeral Home. Box 13753, Mexico Beach, FL 32410. Mr. Goad was born December 15, 1922 in Moorhead, MN, the son of Willard Peirson Goad and Edith Roseland Place Goad. He graduated from Sydney (NY) High School and served in the U. S. Army during World War II as a member of Darby's Rangers. He was a prisoner of war for 15 months. He retired as a Tech. Sgt. in the U. S. Air Force. He was a founder and first Commander of Hudson-Poplawski Chapter Ex-POW in Panama City, FL, a member of the V. F. W. and the American Legion.
