Clarence A. Jones, Sr., age 86, passed away Wednesday, April 22, 2026, at his home in Dothan, Alabama, surrounded by his loving family. Services for Mr. Jones will be held Friday, April 24, at 4:00 PM (EST), in the Cadwell Chapel of Cox-Ivey Funeral Home. Pastor Darryl Bates will officiate. Clarence will be buried privately in Mt. Gilead Cemetery.
Clarence A. Jones, Sr. was born December 26, 1939, in Blakely, Georgia, to Idus Lewis Jones and Edith Smith Jones. He attended Blakely Union High School. Clarence was an avid hunter and fisherman. He never met a stranger and always had time to chat. He had a great sense of humor and loved to make people laugh. He worked for Miller-Hydro for many years and then drove for Ferrellgas until his retirement at 74. Clarence was an avid Atlanta Braves fan. Much loved by his family, he will be deeply missed.

Jones, Sr. is survived by his son, Clarence Ashley Jones, Jr. (Darla) of Dothan; his sister, Judy Howard of Douglasville, GA; grandchildren, Sarah Elise Jones Serpa (Jacob) and Hunter Bullock (Stephanie), both of Dothan; two great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Martha Ann Glass and Lewis Jones.
