Clifford Maxwell

Clifford B. Maxwell, Sr., 85, of Attapulgus, GA, passed away Monday, March 11, 2013 at Memorial Hospital. The graveside funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 16, 2013 at Roselawn Memory Gardens with Rev. Jimmy Weaver officiating. Mr. Maxwell was born October 29, 1927 in Mitchell County, GA, the son of Clifford Maxwell and Alberta Barwick Maxwell. He was a veteran of the United States Army and United States Navy, serving during World War II. Mr. Maxwell was a retired makeup operator for Engelhard Corporation. He was a member of Midway Baptist Church and V.F.W. Post 4904. Survivors include his children, Bronwood Lamar Maxwell and his wife, Taresa, Edna Faye Colvin and her husband, Franklin, Inis (Bert) Calhoun and her husband, Roy, Clifford B. Maxwell, Jr. and his wife, Kathy, Harry Landron Maxwell, Nora Kaye Ramer and her husband, Glenn, Ernest Eugene Maxwell and his wife, Sherry, Myra Elizabeth Maxwell, Sue Ellen Dapsi, Donald Hugh Maxwell, Linda Darlene Johns and her husband, Blake, Kimberly Diane Lane, James William Maxwell, Edith Jeanette Lewis, and Danny Lavon Maxwell; his brothers, A. B. Maxwell and Roger L. Maxwell; his sisters, Maxine Johnson, Jeanette Cook, and Dale Barry; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mattie Katherine Maxwell; his son, Charles Lynwood Maxwell; and his siblings, Wayne, Rebecca, and Velna.
