Clyde Newsome

Clyde R. Newsome, 77, of Bainbridge, GA, passed away Saturday, October 8, 2016.The funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, October 11, 2016 at Morningside Baptist Church with Rev. Jimmy Dean officiating. Interment will follow at Oak City Cemetery.The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Monday, October 10, 2016 at Ivey Funeral Home. Box 7009, Bainbridge, GA 39818.Clyde R. Newsome was born January 6, 1939 in Greenville, MS, the son of Clarence and Lettie Newsome. He lived most of his life in Decatur County and faithfully attended Morningside Baptist Church. He served his country in the United States Air Force and later retired as a civil servant with the United States Postal Service. Clyde was quite a character. Many will remember him riding his bicycle to deliver mail all over town. Clyde enjoyed puzzles, coin collecting, and flying airplanes. He had an ear for music and kept a record collection that included his favorites: classical music, Elvis, Frank Sinatra, and Patsy Cline.Clyde is survived by many nieces and nephews as well as some special friends and caregivers. He was preceded in death by his parents and his siblings, Shelton Newsome, Leo Newsome, Vernon Newsome, Nellie Willis, and Jewel Mosley.
